A quasilinear diffusion equation for particles interacting with transverse waves propagating along a homogenous magnetic field is constructed to study the effect of resonant magnetic-moment-violating interactions. It appears that quite anisotropic flat-helix particle distributions can result from such interactions.
Chang et al. (1965) studied this question.
