Abstract The gram-order of fullerene (C60) with 99.8 wt% purity was isolated from carbon soot by fractional precipitation with 5,11,17,23,29,35,41,47-octa-tert-butylcalix8arene-49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56-octol. This is a very convenient and efficient C60 purification method without any precious apparatus.
