Water damage: A problem in the catalytic oxidation of water has until now been the stability of the catalyst because of oxidative degradation of the organic ligands. A solution to this problem has been found in the form of a highly active and stable purely inorganic catalyst (see scheme; bpy=2,2′-bipyridine).
Georg Süß‐Fink (2008) studied this question.
