The author suggests, in this address, that we must now consider economic and environmental issues on a global basis. There must be international cooperation that includes: help for developing countries in promoting economic growth without using up their natural resources; development of strategies to provide energy sources that do not pollute the environment or deplete natural resources. She emphasizes that environmental concerns must permeate all decisions, from consumer choices through national budgets to international agreements.
