ALTHOUGH the beta-adrenergic blocking drug, propranolol, has been used in adults with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy,1 2 3 its use in children has not yet been reported. The youngest child in whom the diagnosis has been confirmed was one year of age,4 and operative correction was unsuccessful.
