Abstract : This is Part V of a series of reports on rationales and techniques of matrix factoring which play an important role in multivariate analysis techniques. Indeed, it may well be said that all adequate models and methods of multivariate analysis are special cases of matrix factoring techniques. The more traditional methods of factor analysis, in particular, are special cases of more general matrix factoring techniques, as are also all multiple regression models.
