In the diagnostic half (125 pages) he has succeeded in presenting the essence of what can be found in several of the standard weighty tomes on the subject. All the important theoretical concepts are touched on and the criteria for diagnosis of individual rhythm disorders are completely set forth with a clarity which is unusual for this subject matter. The discussion of controversies is particularly enlivened by the author's personal views, which are always closely reasoned.
