The new unified gauge theories of strong, weak, and electromagnetic interactions scale in low-order perturbation theory with a nonvanishing W₁ and up to a log in W₂. This is in contrast to "old" Yang-Mills models, and resurrects the possibility of data interpretation in terms of bosonic (hadronic) constituents.
