Categorical Programs for Heart Disease, Cancer and Stroke

THE report of the President's Commission on Heart Disease, Cancer and Stroke, published in late 1964, has proposed a program to effect a reduction of unnecessary deaths from heart disease, cancer and stroke, through the establishment of a network of centers for investigation, training and treatment. Evidence, mostly in the form of death rates, was presented to demonstrate the major importance of these three causes of death.
