S ummary . A method has been devised for the separation of red cells, polymorphs, lymphocytes, and monocytes from the peripheral blood. The fractions give a large yield of cells with a high degree of purity, and cells appear to be undamaged. The ferritin concentration in cell extracts has been determined in 10 normal men and 10 normal women. There is no sex difference in any of the cell types. The mean ferritin concentration in monocytes is approximately 7.5 times the concentration in other leucocytes.
