Summary. The mechanical properties of cardiac muscle have been examined on isolated parallel threaded muscle bundles under aerobic conditions, before and after addition of g‐strophantin. G‐strophantin does not influence any of the following properties: Diastolic tension, extra tension during contraction, stiffness at rest and during contraction, viscosity or the capacity of work during isotonic contraction.
Gunnar Lundin (1946) studied this question.
