Does moderate-to-severe MR predict cardiac death and HF in medically treated patients with LV dysfunction and FMR?
Medically treated patients with functional mitral regurgitation (FMR) and left ventricular (LV) dysfunction
Moderate-to-severe MR (as a risk factor)
Cardiac death and HFhard clinical
Moderate-to-severe functional mitral regurgitation is an independent predictor of adverse outcomes (cardiac death and heart failure) in patients with LV dysfunction on standard pharmacological therapy.
The mortality and morbidity of patients with LV dysfunction and FMR remain high despite current standard pharmacological therapy. Moderate-to-severe MR is an independent predictor of cardiac death and HF.
