Is para- and perirenal ultrasonographic fat thickness associated with 24-hours mean diastolic blood pressure levels in overweight and obese subjects?
Overweight and obese subjects
Para- and perirenal ultrasonographic fat thickness (PUFT) measurement
24-hours mean diastolic blood pressure levelssurrogate
Para- and perirenal fat thickness measured by ultrasound is independently associated with increased 24-hour diastolic blood pressure in overweight and obese patients.
This study shows a positive independent association between PUFT and mean 24-h diastolic blood pressure levels in overweight and obese subjects, suggesting a possible direct role of PUFT in increasing daily diastolic blood pressure.
