This study develops a system-robustness assessment model of water supply infrastructures against earthquakes. For this purpose, repetitive probabilistic simulations are performed to examine relative importance of system components under possible seismic scenarios. Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) is used for the probabilistic seismic simulations. Seismic damages are quantified using several robustness indices such as system serviceability, nodal serviceability, and water availability. The proposed methodology is applied to a real network in South Korea using historical seismic information. The proposed model can be used in earthquake-resistant system design to strengthen system durability and minimize potential damages.
