Lyophilic but not sticky! A lyophilic yet nonwettable surface seems self-contradictory, however, a nanostructured super-lyorepellent surface is used to reveal that a lyophilic nonwettable state is theoretically feasible in an oil/water/air/solid four-phase system. This finding may throw light on multiphase interface behavior. As a service to our authors and readers, this journal provides supporting information supplied by the authors.
