Are higher blood pressure trajectories in early adulthood associated with an increased risk of subclinical atherosclerosis (CAC) in middle age?
Higher blood pressure trajectories from young adulthood to middle age are associated with increased risk of coronary artery calcium, suggesting long-term BP tracking may improve risk stratification.
Blood pressure trajectories throughout young adulthood vary, and higher BP trajectories were associated with an increased risk of CAC in middle age. Long-term trajectories in BP may assist in more accurate identification of individuals with subclinical atherosclerosis.
