BAUER RAYMOND A. BAUER * The experiment was conducted and the rejulu analyzed by Miss Zimmerman. The germinal idea originated with Ithid de Sola Pool. During the year 1954–55 a study group which included, besides the authort, Jerome S. Bruner and Mr. Pool, met a number of tunes to explore the ramifications of the role of the audience in the communications process. This experiment was designed in the course of theses discussions. A memorandum by Mr. Bauer on ”The Role of Audiences in the Communications Process“ may be obtained from the Center of International Studies, M.I.T. Miss Zimmerman is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Wellesley College; Mr. Bauer is Associate Professor of Social Psychology, M.I.T., at present on leave at the Center for Advanced study in the Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University.
