Arrhythmias after heart transplantation
H eart transplantation (HT) has significantly altered the treatment paradigm for end-stage heart disease. ] Besides the effects of surgical healing, the increasing longevity of the HT patient allows for new and progressive alterations in the donor heart as well as the neurohumoral milieu, resulting in a spectrum of arrhythmias with clinical implications. The Table provides a summary of the unique mechanisms of arrhythmias in the transplanted heart.
