The Runoff Block of the EPA Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) has been modified to permit alternative flow pathways during overland flow that permit routing of flow from impervious areas over pervious areas, for instance. The modifications for quantity and quality are described in this paper. These changes should make it easier to evaluate new stormwater management technologies, such as low impact development.
