This research aims to evaluate the effects of daily interruption of sedative infusions on mechanical ventilation duration and ICU stay.
Patients undergoing mechanical ventilation received daily interruptions of sedative infusions.
Analysis focused on comparing duration of mechanical ventilation and length of ICU stay before and after intervention.
Daily interruption led to a significant decrease in the duration of mechanical ventilation.
Patients experienced shorter lengths of stay in the intensive care unit.
Abstract
