This report highlights the possibility of left phrenic nerve injury during cryoballoon ablation of the pulmonary veins.
Injuries to structures adjacent to the cryoballoon, as right phrenic nerve (PN), have been reported during cryoablation of atrial fibrillation. Andrade et al. reported a right PN palsy rate of 6.38%.
