The visible-light induced trifluoromethylation of N-arylcinnamamides with Togni's reagent has been explored. This method allows for an efficient and practical synthesis of a variety of CF3-containing dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-ones and 1-azasporo4.5decanes bearing various functional groups under mild conditions.
