Ongoing developments are presented into ultra-low-cost 4D monitoring solutions for Deepwater fields which can also be deployed on-demand. The efforts focus around utilizing Distributed Acoustic Sensing Vertical Seismic Profiles (DAS-VSP) to complement a nodal seismic program. As part of this program, DAS-VSP surveys were acquired in 5 wells at two Deepwater Gulf of Mexico fields. These surveys included the first 4D DAS-VSP in Deepwater. In addition to their monitoring value, these data are being used to explore the impact of various factors on DAS-VSP images, including fiber type and length, well flow conditions, and overburden characteristics. Furthermore, data were also acquired to test lowering the cost of DASVSP surveys by using smaller sources and depopulated shot grids. Software tools are being developed which will allow enhanced DAS-VSP survey planning. Presentation Date: Wednesday, October 19, 2016 Start Time: 1:55:00 PM Location: 146 Presentation Type: ORAL
