With the continued need to find ways to improve the efficiency of educational organizations, much attention has focused on the utilization of technology. An essential component in the effective use of technology is the competence of educational leaders in the use of this technology. In this article the results of a survey of directors of data-processing in medium- to large-size school districts are presented. These results are compared to the findings of an earlier survey, and recommendations are made for the content of courses included in preservice training programs for educational administrators.
