Future millimeter-wave automotive radar sensors will likely have the capability to utilize the micro-Doppler signatures for classifying different targets, especially pedestrians and bicyclists. This paper presents the study findings on micro-Doppler signatures associated with the movements of body and rotating wheels of pedestrian and bicyclist at 77 GHz. The pedestrian micro-Doppler signatures were studied analytically and experimentally. The micro-Doppler responses of bicycles were studied via experiments.
