Professor Rogers' book is based on a postgraduate course in atmospheric thermodynamics and cloud physics, for physical meteorologists. It is however a well organized text written at a level which is likely to appeal to a wider audience and, as the preface suggests, is a useful introduction to the subject for nonspecialists.
