Does the MitraClip procedure improve hemodynamics or provide clinical benefit in patients with progressing left ventricular dysfunction prior to LVAD implantation?
Patients with progressing left ventricular dysfunction who underwent MitraClip procedure prior to left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation
MitraClip procedure
Hemodynamic improvement and clinical benefit
The MitraClip procedure provided no clinical or hemodynamic benefit in this cohort of patients with progressing left ventricular dysfunction who ultimately required LVAD implantation.
Our presented patient cohort presented little hemodynamic improvement after the MitraClip procedure. There was no clinical benefit for the patients after MitraClip procedure, progressing left ventricular dysfunction could not be prevented and resulted in subsequent LVAD implantation.
