Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of self efficacy and stress coping strategies of nursing students. Methods: Data was collected by questionnaires from 180 nursing students. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Sheffe test, and pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS. Results: The mean score for self esteem was 58.43. They coped their stress with emotional pacification(3.00) most frequently and passive withdrawal 1.55) least frequently. The high self-efficacy group had higher positive interpretation(t=3.277, p=.001), active coping(t=7.055, p=000), emotional pacification(t=3.053, p=003) than lower self-efficacy group. There was significantly difference in self efficacy and stress coping strategies according to grade, religion and living state. Conclusion: This result suggested that self efficacy is significant factor on effective stress coping strategies of nursing students.
