Since the standard Frequency Diverse Array (FDA) model was proposed, it has received widespread attention because it offers a way to control the beampattern in two dimensions (range and angle) simultaneously, but it is limited by its S-shaped beampattern in the application. In this paper, based on the standard FDA structure, we propose a method to perfectly focus the beampattern in the range-angle domain without additional hardware cost. That is to say, the proposed method can provide dot-shaped range-angle beampattern with simple steps, which expands the FDA application. Mathematical analysis and numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the outperformance of the proposed method. Even in the case of small array element number, it can still achieve a perfect dot-shaped beampattern compared with the previous methods.
