Abstract A spectrum analyzer, called AnELyzer, was developed in Scilab for teaching and researching about acoustics of the violin. Unlike other free analyzers, AnELyzer has the capability of dual‐channel analysis and it is cross‐platform. AnELyzer can safely substitute a commercial device because results calculated in both cases were almost the same.
