Government of India (GoI) recognizes that e-Governance, in the context of developing countries, provides an excellent opportunity for improving governance. These changes could not only go a long way in improving the quality of life of these sections of society, but could actually provide them more equitable access to economic opportunities than ever before. In this attempt the study will be made an attempt to riposte aforesaid issues. Moreover, the studies have also suggested some plausible suggestions which may help in successful and sustainable deployment of e-governance in India. The value and implications of this study, since the study reveals that it is the most up to date and comprehensive study of the country's level of ICT readiness for the delivery of government services online, suggest that an understanding of the current status of e-Government/e-Governance in India can help policy makers recognise the importance of India's future growth by pursuing ICT development of both public and private sector organisations.
