Estimation Methods for Evolutive Processes

Summary The logic of estimating the parameters in evolutive processes is considered with reference to a simple Poisson process and to the process resulting from using a counter with a non-zero resolving time. A complete solution of the problem of estimating the parameter in a simple birth process is followed by a partial solution of the problem of estimating the two parameters in the simplest birth and death process. The same method is applied to logistic processes without, however, obtaining exact distributions.
