Does a dual-filter cerebral embolic protection device reduce peri-procedural stroke in patients undergoing TAVR?
Patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
Dual-filter cerebral embolic protection (CEP) device
Unprotected TAVR procedures
Rate of peri-procedural strokehard clinical
The use of a dual-filter cerebral embolic protection device during TAVR is associated with a significantly lower rate of peri-procedural stroke.
Our findings suggest that TAVR with the dual-filter CEP device is associated with a significant lower rate of peri-procedural stroke compared with unprotected procedures. However, randomized trials are still needed to clarify this issue.
