Health sector has evolved into a major source of digital data. The data generated is distributed on various servers at different place. Interoperability is a major concern whenever the electronic data is shared among peers. The main goal of an interoperable solution is to provide an understanding of data both syntactically and semantically. The research reviews the current work in data interoperability, its need and existing solutions in health domain. It also highlights the current issues for not achieving a fully interoperable system in healthcare and proposed Architecture for handling existing issues for secure Patient data retrieval and sharing across boundaries. This work will be a knowledge source for various professional and researchers working with Electronic Health Record of patients.
