In the past few years drones have transformed from a geeky hobbyist affair to a full-on cultural phenomenon. Within another few years there would be swarms of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) taking over the skies. There has been a hefty investment made by governments and industries in the development of UAVs. With the rapid growth in technology many new sensors are being added to drones so that their operation can be optimized and they can work for dedicated applications with high performance. Nowadays drones have proved valuable in safety surveillance, search and rescue operations, photography, disaster management, shipping and delivery, agriculture and so on. Drones are also being utilized to establish internet connection in rural areas. In the earlier days when drones were in development they were manually controlled by a person by using a controller. Now, lot of research has been conducted in the field of drones. Hence with the advent of technology follow me drones are gaining popularity amongst the people. This paper reviews the trends in the development of person following drones which incorporates the features of establishment of LAN and also details on our proposed work.
