Contribution of energy towards sustainable development is uncontested. Since energy demand is increasing, and so does the concern about environment and climate change, renewable energy (RE) is being considered a tool to provide access to electricity and eradicate poverty. Even with progressive national economy in Bangladesh, majority of rural populations are deprived from grid electricity. Due to heavy investment needed in infrastructure development for grid connectivity, a promising alternative is renewable energy technology (RET) that caters power and energy need of non-electrified rural communities.
