All analyses were conducted using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18. The results of this study are described below. We found that abusive supervision significantly reduced affective commitment by the employees. Also, abusive supervision increased external whistle-blowing intention but not associated with internal whistle-blowing intention. Additionally, affective commitment was positively associated with internal whistle-blowing intention. No association was seen between affective commitment and external whistle-blowing intention. These findings indicated that affective commitment is an important mediating factor between abusive leadership and an employee s behavior. Thus our findings suggest that an employee s internal whistle-blowing intention is indirectly triggered by abusive supervision through increased affective commitment. This study further supports recommendations and implications for regulating supervisor behavior in workplace.
