. and empirical data. The paper discusses the main types of support for agricultural cooperatives operating in our country. The most common of them have been revealed and an analysis of their implementation in various regions of the country has been carried out in all federal districts. Based on the data of the Unified Register of small and medium-sized businesses on the number of agricultural cooperatives created in 2018 in the country, the leading regions in this matter were identified. The experience of the development of agricultural cooperation in the most successful in this area of the region - the Lipetsk region. The result of the research is a model for the development of agricultural cooperation at the regional level developed by the authors. This model includes an integrated system for the development of agricultural cooperation, consisting of two elements (three-tier management system and institutes for the development of agricultural cooperation) and a model for supporting the development of agricultural cooperation, which will contribute to the effective development of cooperatives. The results of the study can be used to further improve the practice of supporting agricultural cooperation at the regional level.
