The article examines the main problems of the digital transformation of public administration, analyzes the causes of these problems, the peculiarities of acquiring new competencies by civil servants, and defines a model of digital competencies of a civil servant. The authors analyzed the indicators of the international rating of competitiveness and innovativeness of countries. Possible ways of solving problems that contribute to the development of new directions of digitalization of public administration have been identified.
