Ideas of Sustainable Development in the Legal Protection of the Environment of the 21st Century: Realities and Prospects

The article analyzes the provisions of the Concept of sustainable development and their evolution in the historical perspective, as well as the impact on modern international and national environmental legislation. Within the framework of the Concept, it is planned to create a new model of civilizational development, which consists in achieving a balance between solving social and economic problems and preserving the environment in the interests of current and future generations of people. At the same time, special attention is paid to the preservation of a favorable state of the environment and the sustainable use of its components, ensuring the stability of local ecosystems, which, in turn, should ensure the global stability of the entire biosphere.
