Network layer DoS Attack on IoT System and location identification of the attacker

Internet of Things is the biggest and most accessible network where any smart device can be connected, and security is a big concern these days. WSN is the prominent subpart of IoT. The routing protocol for low power and lossy networks (RPL) is the safest alternative for WSN and it is mostly used at the network layer. DOS attacks are the most serious attacks that have arisen in all levels of the IoT. In this study, we determined the effectiveness of a selective forward attack which is a network layer DoS attack and on the basis of energy consumption and received packets by the nodes identifies the attacker location.
