The paper aims to identify the peculiarities and dynamics of acceptance of the Soviet literature in China. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that the issue of coverage of the Soviet literature in the Chinese periodical “Wenyi Bao” in 1949-1966 is considered in the Russian-language space for the first time. As a result, it has been proved that the acceptance and popularization of the Soviet literature in China were enforced “from above”. “Wenyi Bao”, being an important ideological part and the speaker of the Chinese Communist Party and relying on the government support and approval, regulated the amount of information and the tactics of coverage of the Soviet literature in 1949-1966.
