In this work, an attempt to improve a planned off-grid Photovoltaic (PV)/Diesel Generators (DGs)/Battery bank system, for electricity generation in Corisco International Airport, integrating wind turbines (WTs) is done. The current operative four 750 kW DGs, would be removed after implementation. Using HOMER software, the simulation results of the proposed system provide 95.38% in saving for net present cost and cost of energy, and 98.68% in saving for operation and maintenance cost, against DGs. The renewable generation meets the load demand (307.42125 MWh/year) with 41.30% of excess electricity. Thus, the annual greenhouse gases emissions are greatly reduced by 98.50% in the island environment. The winning system consists of six 25 kW WTs, 258.24 kW of PV panels, one 800 kW DG, and twenty 51.6 kWh batteries. The contributions of WT, solar PV and the DG within a total electrical generation of 531.688 MWh/year are 31.31%, 67.19%, and 1.50%, respectively.
