Introduction to general is a text book designed and writen to help and provide the language students of University, or those who wish to learn and teach language. The references of this book derived from the writer's experience during teaching linguistics at English Department of Teacher Training and Education of Islamic University of Riau, his papers in seminar, and library references. This book is also intended togive basic information about linguistics and to indicate the development of linguistics research particularly to the students and teacher language. consequently, since this book is far from being perfect, the writer accepts sugesstions and critieisms of leader for futher revisions.
