AnnotationIntroduction.Modern Ukrainian society is going through a period of upheavals and deep radical transformations in connection with the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian aggressors.Sociological studies that have been conducted in the present time testify to a radical change in the values of the country's population.Yes, the main one is physical health and safety (survival).In this connection, the problem of modernization of educational institutions of Ukraine, including the system of physical education in educational institutions, arises with particular urgency.The purpose of the study is the analysis of modern programs in the discipline «Physical Culture» in order to determine approaches to the modernization of the existing concept of physical education in accordance with the requirements of the present time.The following methods were used in the research process: analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodical literature; system analysis method; chronological method; historical-logical method; descriptive method; comparative method.Results.Today's realities determine the need to increase the level of pre-conscription training of schoolchildren.Before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian aggressors in 2022, the idea of liberalizing physical education was planned in the educational institutions of our country, which requires abandoning the standardization of education, creating a large number of alternative programs.But current conditions require a review of approaches to the application of certain models of school education.There are four main models: health-adaptive, socially-oriented, personal-oriented, sports-recreational.The analysis of the concepts of general secondary education reform «New Ukrainian School» shows its relevance to modern realities and allows us to talk about the expediency of using a socially-oriented model of school physical education.Conclusion.The analysis of the concepts of general secondary education reform "New Ukrainian School" shows its relevance to modern realities and allows us to talk about the expediency of using a socially-oriented model of school physical education.
