This manuscript is one of four manuscripts that share results from an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis study about transgender and/or gender expansive youth. Nine participants aged 13–17 participated in two 60–90-min interviews and a member-checking meeting in which they co-constructed the findings with the primary researcher. The findings explored the participants’ experiences of oppression within the current social, political, historical, and cultural contextual factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic. The following sub-themes emerged from the data: mental health, trauma and coping, neurodiversity, mental health treatment, and dis/ability.
