Internet of things (IoT) is an advanced technology that is an intricate internal network of entities which are tangible, a technology that has so far driven us to access multifunctional devices simultaneously. Disaster management has been an incessant challenge for the global administrators with disaster striking both in an informed and cautioned pattern and as uniformed shock. The article is an attempt at studying critically the probable role of the innovative and intriguing IoT in the domain of disaster management that has grappled our lives in recent times, right from the Covid-19 pandemic as a disaster to the series of environmental disasters that continue to rock our world. The four-pronged approach to disasters, natural or otherwise, of prevent, prepare, respond and recover is facilitated with the assistance of the IoT which is the crux of the paper. The application of IoT has in fact helped us with early warning signals to help in management of the impending or already struck disaster. The application of IoT to management of impending or occurred disasters is ubiquitous, and the article is an attempt at revisiting the probable solutions that exist and can be created to address the worldwide disasters.
