This article discusses the existing scientific research on the methodological recommendations for assessing the transport complex, as well as the methods adopted at the legislative level regarding transport. The analysis focuses on the digital transformation of the transport industry. The result of the study is the conclusion about the need to improve the methodological foundations for assessing the transport complex of the region through the development of an integral digital index for assessing the transport infrastructure of the region.
