The article presents a comparative analysis of the approaches of A.V. Chayanov and N.D. Kondratiev to the implementation of land and agrarian reform, which was being prepared in Russia after the February Revolution of 1917. The views of economists on the purpose and objectives of the reform, methods of its implementation and socio-economic consequences are considered. Special attention is paid to the methodological principles of reforming agrarian relations, the correlation of land and agrarian reform, the role of peasant labor economy as the main beneficiaries of transformations, as well as methods of socialization of land and the principles of its transfer into the hands of the peasantry. The importance of the scientific heritage of A.V. Chayanov and N.D. Kondratiev for modern agrarian policy is shown.
