Do SGLT2 inhibitors reduce the risk of first HF hospitalization or cardiovascular death in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction?
In patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, SGLT2 inhibitors significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular death or heart failure hospitalization, though they do not significantly affect all-cause mortality.
Our study finding shows that SGLT2 inhibitors significantly reduced the risk of first HF hospitalization or cardiovascular death and HF hospitalization; however, all-cause mortality was comparable between the groups.
